On Honeydew Hath Fed

Sky - Poem by On Honeydew Hath Fed

I remember this day,

That one. You know,

When you’ve awoke to see

With bright eyes a band new

Sky?

So amazing it dims all else

In impossible comparison?

And I told you. Alight

With excitement to share

My blissful news with

You, my friend. You simply

Shrugged.

My smile slipped.

Claiming to have heard it

All before, and said last you heard

Your sky remained

Overcast.

I told you this was no lie

Simply to beautiful for fiction.

You, however, continue to

Deny.

Hope lingers that someday

You too will look outside and then

You won’t help but be

Compelled to experience

A true-er love and breath

Steady in sunlight

Changed.
