Somehow - Poem by Dhruv Dikshit

Don’t know the reason to smile,
Don’t know the reason to enjoy,
Don’t know the reason for the outer show,
But somehow,
They just happen to be.

Don’t know the reason to cry,
Don’t know the reason to be unhappy,
Don’t know the reason for the unbearable losses,
But somehow,
They just happen to be.

Don’t know the reason for a mind so obscured,
Don’t know the reason for heart so benevolent,
Don’t know the reason for a mouth so unethically dumb,
But somehow,
They just happen to be.

Don’t know the reason for the lost appetite,
Don’t know the reason for the careless dress-ups,
Don’t know the reason for the unshaven face,
But somehow,
They just happen to be.

Don’t know the reason for the sleepless nights,
Don’t know the reason for day-dreaming,
Don’t know the reason to sleep or awake,
But somehow,
They just happen to be.

Don’t know the reason to care,
But somehow, I do.
Don’t know the reason for dying,
But somehow, I am.
Don’t know the reason to love,
But somehow, I do.
