The Window - Poem by Megan Ayscue

You look at me through the window
And I wonder why you're there.
I see you looking back at me
And all I do is stare.

You're the one who I look to
You're the one who I love.
But I cannot stay here while you leave
'Cause I cannot look down on you from above.

It's love that cannot happen
It's love that cannot be
It's love that cannot come true
It's love that cannot see.

I hope everyday and every night I stay here
Waiting for you to return
But you never come home any way.
Now I wish you'd just burn.

You'd think I'd come around
But it's not going to be that way
Because you are a torn piece of flesh
I'd rather not stay anyway.

It's love that cannot happen
It's love that cannot be
It's love that cannot true
It's love that cannot see.

I see you there
And I hate you with a passion
But you will not leave and it hurts me
I wish you would go out of fashion.

You hurt me
You burn me
I hate you so much
But still you cannot see.
