Time Stopped In September - Poem by Ismim Putera

The King sold his soul but kept his heart,
To the Soul Keeper,
For the exchange of an eternal life.

The soul was hidden somewhere far,
Somewhere between the seven stars,
Somewhere beneath the seven lands.

Evil creature submerged from shadows,
Stole the soul with hatred and vengeance,
And transformed itself into wicked monster!

War was declared between the evil creature and the King,
The tragic chaos took the life of the beloved Queen,
The King owned both victory and the ruin.

The King’s suicide plans were meaningless,
Death was unable to kill the King,
At last, his immortality bloomed with loneliness.

The King offered his heart to the Soul Keeper,
To freeze a small fragment of time in September,
And use the rest of his immortal life, to bring the Queen back to life.

Soul Keeper fulfilled his final wish,
To stop a time in September,
A time for the King and the Queen that I used to remember.
