Trying To Hide - Poem by Elizabeth Neilsen

secrets are no good
somebody always knows
who you really are
and how you feel
your cold dark hear
is hidden inside
you smile
even when you're sad
so people don't know
you try to hide
they try to figure you out
just leave her alone
its for her own good
don't hide your tears
let them rain down
on your carpet of lies
this is why you aren't happy
and the world
can't be figured out
too many puppets
too many plays
no real people
everybody is trying to hide
who they really are
because its the 'cool'
thing to do
