We Will - Poem by Katrina Wisniewski

We run,
We hide,
We conquer nothing.

Pretending nothing is wrong,
we hide our tears.
Shedding the blood,
we feel no pain.
We know nothing more.

Scoring easily,
we are the unseen.
Striving to be right,
even when we're wrong.
Brushing our problems aside,
we live in denial.

Disobeying,
we pay no attention.
Speaking words of dishonesty,
a meaningless truth.
Crying for no reason,
we beg for answers.
Comprehending our boundaries,
we never follow.

Choosing our words,
but never wisely.
We tend to walk away,
and never look back.
Choosing to be harsh,
we will never learn.

We will run,
We will hide,
We will conquer nothing.
