When The Sun Sets - Poem by Lynzi Berner

The days are long
but I get by

They aren't as long
as the nights

Dreaming is the hardest part

Most would say breathing
but no
I can breathe just fine
how odd

But when the sun sets
the stars come out
to laugh at me
as I wait for you

I finally go to bed
and walk into my dreams
So vivid
So real
So painful

Breathing doesn't bother me
but dreaming always
makes me cry
