Window - Poem by Misty Jepson

When I closed my window
I didn't know my fate,
I didn't know that anyone
could carry so much hate

You locked me in my closet
all against my will,
and as I sat there thinking
time was standing still

There was no way of escaping
there was no way to survive,
I just sat there silently
hoping I would die

The closet door flew open
but no one was to be seen,
But then I looked at the window
and i knew what this could mean

I knew their life was over
there was nothing left to be,
Cause when I closed that window
all they wanted was to be free

I caged them like a lion
with no where they could run,
Because all they reall wanted
was to see the sun

So I am a killer
of a precious thing,
And all I hear inside my head
is a silent ring
