Bitter Is Better - Poem by Lindz Williamson

I am arriving at an age where I enjoy the thought of bitter
the sour taste sweeter than the sweet
more savoury goodness grapes can't provide
without a twist of juniper
on the cake just doesn't do it anymore
I want the keg of vinegar
puckered cheeks
lemon rind
and salt
