Catalyst, The - Poem by s./j. goldner

for the first time:
i wasn't in it for the attention
just so you know;
i wasn't in it for the drama—
the converse
or the trivial 'we.'
i was in it cause this life is
a masquerade
and you were the only
face i could see.

    Susan in a Northern British Avvent may I say...'This is just bloody great'.
    Your writing has a maturity and depth that is rarely seen in one of tender years...unlike me.Great stuff Susan I liked it very much,

    Once again, saying it all in so few, such simple words. (Report)Reply

    It is like one of those powerful lines in a movie that always stay with you and which words are still remembered years after. Romantic. (Report)Reply

    beyond the obvious direct purity of good poetry here, your title of subtle coyness evokes an intriguing depth from this piece. (Report)Reply

    Even when people mean well, everything is false and heartbreaking! ! Your face, Susan is true, even when covered.
