Diary Of A Traveller: I - Poem by Amitabh Roy

Passing meadows sigh no more
Midnight dreams of middle class
Suddenly breaks with bargain loud
A poor mother with her baby new born
Offering railway protectors rupees ten

Our protectors demand twenty
That is the price of keeping tomatoes
With passengers
One-month baby now cries no more
Midnights, sometimes, dream no more…
