Ever Since Being Here I Felt Nothing But Isolation - Poem by Jeysicia Peters

This is why she wanted me back, just so i could sit and watch all she could do without me. She goes places, yet, she leaves me home. This is why I despise being here. She treats my cousin like a daughter but that has always been a bad habit of her; if another girl comes in she'll push me aside instantly. She comes in she'll push me aside instantly. She me for me and her not being close but she has no one to blame but herself. I realized, all I did was be born and as I grew up, I watched her; being oblivious to knowing if I should dislike and like her actions. Now that I understand, I just changed my attitude. As long as she knows that Im just there, then I'll keep acting like it.
