Gone Forever - Poem by Krystal Massey

Through the doors and down the hall.
See the pictures on the walls.
Into the elevator and up a floor.
I'm facing a hall
of cruel metal doors.
Behind each one
is a human being.
Sickness and death
are all I am seeing.
Down to the seventh door on the right.
What I see inside is not a pretty sight.
He was hooked up
to machines by wires.
My level of sadness
could not have been higher.
He was asleep,
lost in his dreams.
Why is everything
as cruel as it seems?
I'm telling you this from my heart.
I wish we never had to part.
Please don't leave me now.
How will I live without you, how?
I'm now crying
because we must say good-bye.
Why do loved ones
have to die?
