Hakuna Matata - Poem by A.j. Binash

Just a week ago
You were twirling my chest hair
Around the tips of your fingers
And I smiled
And thought
"This is nice"

Two days later
I took a dozen blues
With a dozen shots
And the paranoia of suffering
Restricted my mind

It came out
In words

Into the now
My cheeks grow red with embarrassment
As I count the regrets
Listed in my memory

Like watching the petals
wilt off a rotting rose

...The cycle continues
