Hope In The Dark - Poem by Samuel Rufus

Searching for happiness
I landed at the feet
of a mad man
laughing away
his utopian dreams
in the streets

Searching for Pleasure
I stopped at the house
of a prostitute
feeding
her five children
in the ghetto

Searching for hope
i saw a blind man
striding boldly
with his walking stick
in the dark alley.

Searching for peace
i saw a withered cottage
- an old man with wife
Reclining in his arm chair
with a sense of achievement behind.

Beautiful poem, shows the vanity of fleeting pleasures, which either makes us go mad chasing them or come to us out of someone else's pain; the power of inner strength and the peace a stable and happy home brings!
    Keep writing!

Happiness, pleasure, hope and peace are found within our hearts and not elsewhere. Well done Prof. (Report) Reply

    The mystery revealed
    when all hope
    seemed lost
    seeing
    Love
    a fine poem
