Bharati Nayak

I Speak Not - Poem by Bharati Nayak

I speak not
As I feel
Speaking is not essential
Silence speaks for itself
Even eyes speak
Speak thousand words my quivering lips
Unsaid words travel million miles
Sun speaks
Moon speaks
Speaks the thunderstorm
When hearts meet
Mouth says no words
Only the closeness knows
How louder is the heart
When it beats
Beating the loudness of sea-roars.

You speak not as you feel the deepest essence of love. I feel your poem as grace and I find my child Krishna in every line and as I feel Krishna is calling me in love. May Lord Krishna's grace fall on you and you write more lovely poems! (Report)Reply

When speaking is not essential, the speaker does not speak for being stimulated or over stimulated, merry or over merry; mentally or physically tortured / oppressed, speaker at these, keeps silence; but situations and environment with each element speak for the speaker, …..
wonderfully and wisely composed, thanks for sharing

Thank you for noticing my poem 'I Speak Not'.This is my first poem on Poem Hunter.Because Poem Hunter says, this is my best poem and shows it first on my page, people surely read it.Gradually it has entered in to top 500 list.Yesit certainly gives me a sense of happiness and pride to see it on top 500, but I know this rating is not the true indicator of a poem's worth as there are thousands more beautiful poems on Poem Hunter which have not come into the notice of readers till yet.

'I speak not' The title itself is so unique and interesting.
Enjoyed the poem because of the simplicity with which it describes simple truths of life.
My most favourite line is: When it beats
    Beating the loudness of sea-roars.
