It's Just Flat If There Ain'T No Love - Poem by AZ Smits

Yesterday I poked at a beer can
Stuck under my bed
Using the last drumstick
I ever held
It brought to mind
Those times
When I was always swearin' off
I inhaled a cobweb
And started to cough
Got up off my knees
Banished the dust
Held back a sneeze
Looking up at the fan
Swirling above
Thought about you
Thought about love
What it felt like to be beaten
When to take a kick
When to give a shove
Fell back on my knees
Batted at the carpet
It's just flat if there ain't no love
It's just flat if there ain't no love

The way you wrote the poem made it very easy to picture. Interesting poem too by the way. (Report)Reply
