Jump On A Grenade - Poem by Ben Russell

before i let you go away
before i watch you leave me
i promise i wont try and stop you
i just need you to tell me

would he take a bullet
would he take a blade
would he jump upon a grenade
what would he do for you
would he do anything he could
cause thats what i'd do
i'd do anything, anything for you

and after you have gone away
after im left here to stay
i wont try and win you back
i just need you to tell me

would he watch you sleep
would he watch you dream
would he listen to you breathe
what would he do for you
would he do anything he could
cause thats what i'd do
i'd do anything, anything for you

when im alone here in my bed
with nothing but a pillow for my head
i wont dream of you, oh no i swear
i just need you to tell me

would he hold you tight
would he dry your eyes
would he give his life
what would he do for you
would he do anything he could
cause thats what i'd do
i'd do anything, anything for you
