Life Lessons To Learn - Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

A coin has two sides,
Face down or face up;
Tossed, moving quickly,
Then it does slowly stop.

One works. Another sleeps,
Doing nothing every day;
The lazy man is headed
Toward hunger all the way.

Summer comes. Winter goes
As the ants store up food;
Farmers wait for raindrops
To fill up the fields for good.

Waves roll. Sand waits
For someone so creative;
Castles made are fragile,
Nature's wrath isn't selective.

Eyes watch. Blind senses
All that surround him;
The deaf and mute man
Makes signs of his dream.

Wind blows. Flowers wither.
Today man is so strong;
Soon he'll breathe his last,
To pay for sin and wrong.

Deepest sea. Highest hill,
Peak is finally found;
Once on top, next step is
To be back on the ground.

Life goes on. Death comes,
His time no one does know;
A blessing or a curse,
Where will the wind blow?

Solid statues stand still,
Tall trees bow and bend;
Teaching boastful people
To pray to God in heaven.

Countless things abound
Everywhere, for us to turn
Into precious treasures,
And lessons of life to learn.

    Totally love the beautiful expression of life and nature through your superb imagery! Especially love the last verse: Countless things abound Everywhere, for us to turn into precious treasures, and lessons of life to learn! Amazingly profound and delicate sentiments, enriched by your poetical nature itself. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn (Report) Reply
