Lifeless - Poem by Karina Del Maestro

Wind blowing fast
Bringing me back into the past.
My heart breaks
As I stare into his face,
the warmth had left
without a trace.

Why did God take him?
Far from my reach,
Now all that is left is a
Lifeless coffin
And a faint screech.

I hope the devil doesn’t get in his way
For heaven is
where he will stay.
