Love Is - Poem by Jeannie Anglin

love is not a gift
it’s torture instead
is it real or
a dream in my head?
i fear i will never find
what is lost
i’ve been left behind
with all the frost
so much to lose
and nothing to gain
now his eyes
show only disdain
the love is lost
or was it ever there?
the feelings changed
or did he ever care?
what i thought we had
has gone away
and left me here
alone to stay
alone with my fears
and my broken heart
all because i
played another part
