Meteors And Metaphors - Poem by Bill Cantrell

Meteors and metaphors,
Mighty men and mice
Maidens in a minute
And the house is neat and nice
Fishing in a bucket
And we have no tale to tell
Tie a string around a memory,
And emotions will prevail
Metaphors and meteors,
Mice and mighty men
A maiden works forever
And the bucket has no end
A string between them both,
And we have a common thread
As the memories are forgotten,
The metaphor is dead
The meteor is back in space,
The metaphor is gone
They went their separate ways,
For they couldn't get along

You play with words like a master wordsmith and I enjoyed the heck out of ever intriguing line... love repetition, and alliteration, and the pure music of your verses are wonders not to be taken for granted and how this poem pleases all the housewives of the world who look up from the laundry and say thank you. 10++++++++++++ (Report) Reply
