My Angel Is Leaving - Poem by Louise McVicar
The best person I have ever known is leaving
Lord deliver me.
How will I ever bear this pain?
This weight, it rips at my heart.
It's making me faint and groan
The seething warmth that pushes behind my eyes
These tears and silent moan.
How can I bear this weight that is pressing on
my very lungs and heart?
I am weary of crying now
Every good thought of hope I extinguish
as a blight apon his good name
He is the best person I have ever known
How can things ever be the same.
My good angel is leaving
My very good angel is leaving me
I feel so faint at this.
