My First Time Poem by Linus Kithinji Njeru

My First Time

We barely bonded for nine months
A time of peace and ease and simplicity,
We did not move, did not see the vicinity
The period of calm sharing with the worms

The time was passing fast,
Words started sipping into me,
The feeling became intense
I longed for the first time

My mother was very caring,
Ensuring I was never stressed
Doing all at her power for me
Awaiting my first time

My date drew dearer and nearer
My vision became sharper and clearer
The organs growing stronger and harder
Preparing for my first time

Her feeling was tender and sweeter
Her valleys deeper and hills taller
Welcome warmer and entrants wider
She wanted my first time

Finally though, roughly, it was the night of order
Villagers looking and chanting as my father listened and paced
Only my mother came to my help
Attain my first time

She did not embrace me anymore
She did not cover me as I wanted her to
She subjected me to more hostility
On my first day miss earth was harsh.

Linus-this is fantastic, especially the last stanza. I love how it shifts from tender to harsh-truly lifelike and skillful writing on your part! please check out my poems! Samuel Stuart Pennell
