Ayobami Idowu

My Love - Poem by Ayobami Idowu

The other night as I thought of the soul of you
I could not help being touched by the stars
As my mind painted spools of our memories
I became lost in the caresses of the sky
As he saw in clarity
The infinite wisdom of life
I begged that he would impart knowledge
As I was tempted by the greatness of the universe
With all it's majesty that time could not contain
As a touch of heaven came glory
With a soul that had caused me to know
What made the universe search infinitely
I discovered the writing on my spirit
That gave life its reign
Whispered so gently as the weight of your essence
It is love
