One Must Suffer-To Be Creative? - Poem by A.j. Binash

I found a dozen razor blades
Scattered
Below the easel
On the canvas
Were figures shaded
In strokes of red

Your body was twitching
Those last movements before death
I asked:
"How could you do this? "

"One must suffer
For their art"

With your words
Came a splatter of blood

The splatter outlined on the floor
Next to your body
It resembled a blooming rose
It was beautiful

Your finger
Trembled
As you pointed to it

"See what I mean"
