Our Creators - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Carbon
The most abundant elements in the universe
Created in the cataclysmic death of large stars
Spread across the vastness of time and space
To reassemble as planets, trees, oceans and you
Inanimate suns, nurturers of matter
Providers of warmth, light and energy
Parents to all you see
If anything should deserve our admiration
Respect, devotion and veneration
It is the stars

Love this poem, we're stardust after all, it's within us...apparently the same particles found in dead stars are also found in our bodies...Excellent poem Kelly..... (Report) Reply

Then the stars are the gods,
    That made us come alive,
Why is it then that so many men,
Can't seem to see the light.

Fantastic poem, opens a whole new universe of thought
and dreams. Now I know why some of us are star struck.
Just loved this poem. Will be on my favorite's list.
    Thank you poet-thinker

    Well then, Bonne Voyage.
No space suit or ship needed

When I think about how great it would be to go into space, all I have to do is remember that space is what I am made of.
    Thank you, Sandra

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It gives rise to new forms and we are all made of star dust! Great write! (Report) Reply

Liked this thoughtful write and through this penning another fact ie, Law of conservation of energy also is revealed from it.. Ultimately everything is recycled, they just change from one form to other through time.... very nice. (Report) Reply

And energy's mass equivelent. Created by the universe and recycled. Thank you, Amitava

The source of life on earth, it is the sun. you have rightly showed what deserves admiration most. It is the stars. wonderful write! (Report) Reply

One day, the matter in our sun will be redistributed as well, perhaps forming life again. Thanks, Sanjukta

Profound poem with crystal clear message. I always wonder why people get confused between Creator and Creation and why they fall in trap of devil/Satan? ? We are viceroy of Almighty on earth. Your poem is indeed a thought provoking poem, Sir. (Report) Reply

People don't just fall into beliefs, they are born into them. Tales told since before the bronze age have propogated through the 21st century. Most people have little choice, depending on where they live, of what they believe; unless they start to think for themselves. It is rather sad.

your thoughts are very genuine..........a well-crafted piece of work..........you know, what you opined is very simple from the first glance.....but it has a heap of great views behind it...........greatly liked it. (Report) Reply

Thanks, Saheb. Indeed, the idea that matter is subatomic particles and energies, and complex arrangements, forged in nuclear reactions assemble into higher levels of complexity that eventually had an emergent consciousness, is mind blowing. I am nothing more than star vomit but I can think about that fact.

I do not worship the stars, I just stand in awe of the fact that the entire universe is composed, almost in the same proportions, of the matter of which I consist.
