Sadness - Poem by george stannard

When a eye can no longer shed a tear,
a heart drowned in pain,
a soul in pieces,
a being; in vein,
there life in depth of it's creases,

a shattered smile,
hiding the truth,
they just sit there crying,
under ye' old roof,

Where is the joy,
that can slay the sorrow,
and save this being,
at least for tomorrow?
