She - Poem by Yamen Hill
She is more than ever meets the eye,
A love long lost, she sat, and watched it die,
Now she looks, her life she must define,
But hard of heart shes grown, more so with time.
He is young in age, yet old in mind,
The chance given, his life he would rewind,
Yet time is set in stone, and will not yield,
He sees her pain, and wants to be her shield,
She has known the hurt that comes from trust,
Yet he insists, for him, it is a must.
He wants to make her smile, to make her see,
That maybe what was is worth what will be,
He only wants to take the pain away,
To show her that there is a brighter day,
He makes her laugh, to be a friend he does aspire,
But little does she know, her affection, is his true desire.
