She Isn'T Real - Poem by Jennifer Keith

Lost in reality

My hands search for her

Barely reaching my grasp she smiles

Giving my insides a stir

My cheeks burning

She reaches my touch

The butterflies flutter insanely

Too close to being too much

In my embrace

Slowly drifting to sleep

She speaks words surely unheard

For my mind to always keep

Back in reality

Days go one by one

She shied away yet I keep waiting

After the next dying sun

I sketch her out

With careful selection

With many mistakes I have to realize

I can never draw perfection

Forever gone

I embrace the misery

Now she brings the burn and flutter

Only in my memory
