Universal Bulge - Poem by Gene Williamson

We have determined that
on any given night
we can look deep into the core
of tightly wound spiral galaxies
so remote in time
they no longer exist.
We can see millions of stars bulging
from galactic cores
in a regeneration process
expected to brighten the skies another three
or four billion years, unless we
have miscalculated.
And I for one
would not put it past us,
yet who among us will ever know,
who will tell?
