Unsaved - Poem by Andy Brookes

Crazy she said
Normal I replied
The truth lies somewhere in between
But hey what's normal I ask
She shrugs off her disorder

The voices rage in my head she says
The rain fell through the space
I heard it drumming in my dreams.
Help she said I'm drowning in your assertions

There is no silence
Yet the silence rages
There was a silence in her tears
But the mad woman in the attic wailed
Freedom she cried

I could not help but sometimes,
It's all you can do to help yourself.
