Black Rainbow

Why? - Poem by Black Rainbow

That was the last straw
I’m all alone inside
Do it, I urged, do it
I gave in as blood dripped down my arm
My emotions gushed out of me while tears fell down my face
How could you do that to me?
How could you?

Looking back,
My life was useless
Always has been
Always will be
How could you do that to me?
How could you?

I still love you
No matter what
But that pushed me over the edge
Well over the edge
Now you will regret it

Just tell me one thing
Just one thing
Why did you do it?
I loved you

That was an amazing poem. i liked how direct you were about it all. it was something i would like to see out there in the future. (Report)Reply

I liked the directness of this poem. Too often poets try to be very obscure and vague, dreamy. But there is mystery and an unanswered question - what was the blood all about? But that leaves some unresolved slight tension in the reader. I also like the apparent fact that this poem is about real life and specific experience. (Report)Reply
