Gold Star - 21,955 Points (Crawley)

195. - Poem by John Westlake

In a cave cut deep in to the cliff side
beside the mountain pool
fed by a thundering waterfall
there sits a mighty warrior
watched over by his faithful white horse
his swords rest upon his knees

His dark green robes are travel stained
his shoes are worn but well repaired
his long blond hair tidily secured
with a clip of tarnished silver
not a strand obstructs his blue eyes
as they close in concentration

His meditation is very calming
but also healing for his mind and body
nothing can disturb him here
as he focuses on the lessons
his ancient masters taught him

His mind clears of the clouds of memory
showing him many scenes
of both present and future
the possible outcomes are all visible
the best course of action is revealed

Eventually his eyes open
as the rays of the rising sun enter the cave
bathing him in their brilliance
he rises from his seat well rested
ready to face the future
