A Letter He'Ll Never Read

There are so many things I still want to say
So many tears that just won't go away
But will he ever know what's written in my heart?
Maybe not, but this is a great place to start.
I'm writing him a letter I know he'll never read
Not because he has a choice, it just won't be recieved
I'll never hand it over, never ever let it go
Maybe that's why there's still so much he doesn't know
I've written him this letter from the bottom of my heart
Right after he decided to tear the thing apart
Something's can't be helped, I've heard
But i'm not the quickest one to learn
It takes me a while before I catch on
And once I finally did, he was already gone
But I was thinking as I started to cry
I finally realized the reasons why
He needs some space, some time alone
I too could use some time on my own
The most painful part is having to see
Him carry on and laugh without me.
He took the smile from my blue eyes
And I hope down the road I get to try
To put this all behind us and make it true
And hopefully all of the good will shine through
But for now, I'm writing him this letter he'll never read,
I'll title it 'For You' and sign it, 'Love, Me'

Lovely poem on a sad theme. As a compassionate sort of guy, it tugs at my heart strings a bit as I recognise the type of ba****d who has used the poor girl and then dumped her for pastures new. An all too common story.
the irregular rhythm of the poem underlines the feelings of the girl almost sobbing as she tells her story.
I think this poem is altogether well written even if some of the rhymes are just a little forced. Nice one. I will read more of your work. thanks for the invite!

I liked your poem very much. It's a poem that most of us can relate to and feel. A real love letter of a broken heart but very well said and nice ending too.
