A Love Both Real And True - Poem by Aaron Womack
I never thought my heart could
Hurt quite this bad.
I never thought that loving you
Would make me feel so lonely and so sad.
I never thought that
I would ever feel this much pain.
But then again I never thought that
I would be left to stand alone in the rain.
I truly believed you loved me
And would stand by my side.
But instead you left me
And from me your love you hide.
I've never felt so much pain
From losing someone I love.
I always thought of you as my Angel
Sent from heaven above.
There is nothing I wouldn't have done
To make you happy again.
There is nothing I wouldn't have given
For more time with you to spend.
I've made all the changes
You've wanted all along.
But it doesn't even matter now
Because you're already gone.
I have no more tears
Left inside of me to cry.
But everyday I wake up and your not there
My heart again bleeds completely dry.
Yet still I remain here
Just hoping for the day.
That you might just call me up
And say I still love you... it's going to be okay.
I know deep down that
That will probably never be.
But none the less I'd give anything
To have you back standing next to me.
I wish I knew how
To knock down those walls around your heart.
So that you could open back up to me
Instead of continuing to grow apart.
Now we may never know
What truly could have been.
And I blame those
Who took away your ability to forgive.
I will never love another
The way that I loved you.
For what we shared was special
It was a love both real and true.
