A Love To Have And Hold - Poem by Daniel Lloyd Kennedy

Once upon a love my dear, had fallen by the side
Then, dear God returned to me, my love again be tried

Dark and dismal place am I, though sun is shining high
While life is bustling all around, my soul tells heart don't cry

From my request so long ago, the one you then abhorred
That thing from you I wait expressed, resounding yes implored

These feelings held for you my love, grow stronger every day
How can you not feel anything, there seems to be no way

Thoughts of you run wild and free, like sand that's moved by sea
Your, love lights the path I seek, and soul demands of me

Once upon a love my dear, this story now retold
Please consider this my dear, my love to have and hold
