A New Color - Poem by Doug Jones

the wind blew a new odor
ascended unto my door
for there circled the mate
high and low near garden gate
and lying near that leafy rustle
was a dear life lost in the bustle
glowing in a new hue of love
newly discovered by one above
though the afflicted heart beats
it is the silent one that he needs
to late to paint a new portrait
only a brilliant palette of forfeit
burning with a fresh joy
learning the best ploy
as all is renewed in a dimension
re-blued with thin expression
