A Quiet Afternoon 2 - Poem by Michael P. McParland
It's a very quiet afternoon here my sweet dear
as I am sitting in silence with memory and thought.
I am so missing you and long for your touch,
just to feel your embrace and your lips against mine.
To just spend time with each other
reading or watching a film,
and even though I am feeling kind of quiet
I always loved talking to you my sweet lady
and I'd be just as happy sitting and listening
to everything you had to say because
I love your voice and want to hear everything you have to say.
It is a quiet afternoon so I apologize dear
if my writing is a bit slower today.
It's not like anything has happened it's just
a day of memories and reflection
as well as deep longing for my precious Angel.
A day full of memories of all the good things
we shared and we said,
there is far more of that and it outweighs
all the bad things in fights and hard times.
Plus as we both know and have told each other
the words of anger were that and had no meaning.
The words of compassion, passion, true love
and caring warmth are the ones that are real
and the ones worth remembering.
The good is what is truly inside us.
It's a quiet afternoon my sweet love
and feel all of my love strength and warmth
as I send it your way to surround and fill you up.
Know I'm beside you holding you closely,
I love you Kira you truly are wonderful and amazing.
Know that you are my thoughts as I sit here
and do this and that on a quiet day
remembering the beauty you are and looking
forward to our bright future together.
Kira I miss you and want you to know
that you have always been my true love
that I waited for because I knew I would find you.
