A Shattered Life - Poem by Mara Dulce

It feels like my life is a crystal ball
That for some reason keeps getting dropped,
And every time that it gets dropped,
It shatters.
It shatters into a million tiny pieces.

It starts to get repaired
And it is almost back together again
When someone picks it up again and drops it.
It shatters.
It shatters into a million tiny pieces.

One has to wonder,
How many times can one thing break
Before it is broken for good?
And shattered,
Shattered into a million tiny pieces.

When will this madness end?
When will this vicious cycle stop?
Because I don't want to live a life that
Is shattered,
Shattered into a million tiny pieces.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This was written during a 'tragedy' in my High School year when I was away from the Lord. Because I was not walking with God, I felt like I had no one to run to.

An insightful piece of poetry depicting ups and downs of life, well articulated and nicely penned. No matter how many times one falls, one must always strive to keep the faith, since faith keeps those that keep the faith. Thanks for sharing Mara. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
