As Pretty As The Picture Poem by Sneha R

As Pretty As The Picture

The picture Oh!   The most beautiful picture
How gorgeous was its lustre

The picture of the girl in Scotland
Amidst the hawthorns in the beautiful hinterland

It was packed with tulips, hawthorns
And millions of creatures running their marathons

The sight was as pretty as the picture
It left a harmonious strain in my heart with its lustre

I saw it decades and decades ago
Yet it is my heart's and my heart's alone, its logo

Yet I don't know why it brought in a melancholic strain
It plays on like a sad ending film in my brain

We say the word goodbye all the time
Even if it is as sour as lime

But no one knows when the last time is
So I will remember this sight with a bliss

I won't say forever
I wold, rather, say forever and evermore

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The poet remembers the time when he had clicked a beautiful picture of a young girl in the hinterlands of Scotland where he had lived long ago. Times have changed and he is left with just the memories engraved in gold in the deepest depth of his heart.
