Be Still - Poem by Zoe SEM
Behind closed eyes lies a river of torment
Where is my strength; my warrior; my will?
Is he blind to the pain rolling down my cheek?
Can my pleading words not make him still?
Finally he hears my cry, a soothing still becomes
Here immersed I lose myself in silent pain
I’ve misplaced myself it seems
An innocence; an honest smile here slain
A burden to even the coldest of people
Alone I will walk with this black cloud
Forever it will lurk beneath my smiling eyes
While the devil in all his glory walks proud
