Blue Monday (Limerick) - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Thanksgiving weekend has concluded
Some plates with cranberries (reputed)
Leftovers all over
Lightheaded but sober
Uncle Henry clearly excluded

A feast like Thanksgiving presents us with an overload of blessings so that we will have faith in harvests to come.
It's a secular holiday (no longer holyday) and succeeds in promoting hope, even the uncle's intoxication adds to our hope thatgood times will prevail!

Occasionally, I am the drunk uncle. : -)

    1 person liked.
    1 person did not like.

I was laughing so hard that it took me a few moments to regain myself after I read reputed............poor Uncle Henry! That was seriously just what I needed on this Monday. I am not ashamed to be a glutton for your humor and I am always ready for second-helpings.Still laughing......... (Report) Reply
