Bread - Poem by Gulam Abbas Hashmi

Accustomed
I eat but very less
And use to bring a packet full
Of bread, it rests
On shelf
Till my turn comes
To clean the refrigerator
I hastily do my job
And sure this one too
I pick a scrap of cloth
On shoulder
Clean the smelly water
Ignorantly rather
Heedless
I pick up the packet
Of bread
That was left
Accustomed
I eat but very less
And use to bring a packet full
Of bread, it rests
In dustbin now
Till my turn comes
When I am hungry
Really enough
Someday
And same packet
Of bread
That was left
Uneaten
Now rests in dustbin
Of someone else
