Rachel McMay

Bruised, Bashed And Alone - Poem by Rachel McMay

The came from the dark
I had no chance to run
I was scared and outnumbered
It was three against one

To the darkness they dragged me
And they each threw a punch
They continued to hit
Even after they heard my bones crunch

I tried to say stop,
I just needed to shout
I opened my mouth,
but nothing came out

They heard someones voice,
And ran into the night
I hoped someone would see me
But I was nowhere near light

They all ran together
Not a word was spoken
I reach for my phone
But my fingers are broken

Please let me live
don’t let me die here
Its not death that scares me
It not saying goodbye that I fear
