Cake Like Heart - Poem by Philip Hoom

treacle drowned emotion,
sickly sweet,
ready for consumption;
confectionary.

an uncomplicated delight;
licking the spoon
straight from the mixing bowl.

I have a dear appetite
for your edible heart.

    a delightful poem
    light and sweet
    the images
    both charming and profound
    since
    love sustains
    body
    so the soul
    and sing
    out love poems
    to lift the world
    high
    and higher
