Can You See Me? - Poem by Barry Conway

CAN YOU SEE ME?

I CAN'T SEE YOU,
I CAN'T SEE YOU!
CAN YOU SEE ME?

I AM HERE BEFORE YOU,
IN PLAIN SIGHT,
I MAY NOT THINK LIKE YOU,
TALK LIKE YOU,
OR EVEN LOOK LIKE YOU,
BUT I AM HERE,
CAN YOU SEE ME?

I MAY NOT BELIVE,
WHAT YOU BELIVE!
I MAY NOT EVEN LIKE YOU,
AGREE WITH YOU,
THINK OF YOU,
BIT I STILL SEE YOU,
AND IN THAT SEEING,
I ACKNOWLEDGE YOU,
AS ONE WHO IS AS IMPORTANT,
AS EVERYONE.
