Compared To Now - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Thirty years ago I had the body of a Greek god
Compared to now

I was energetic, tireless and engaged in life
Compared to now

Adventures abounded and friends were replete
Compared to now

The best years of life laid ahead in vast number
Compared to now

I was ignorant, raw, inexperienced and foolish
Compared to now

Nothing can compare to the singular now

I like to think that although time has done what time does to the body, that I have used that time to expand my mind

Ah to be young again with the wisdom of today
We don't really realize it, till our youth has gone away.

Your poem is excellent, transmits your nostalgic feelings perfectly. Reaches out.....

I injured my knee today lifting weights and felt my age. But I would not trade one second of my wisdom, knowledge and experience for my perfectly fit young body.
