Consumed - Poem by Joshua Winfield
Why do you let you beauty consume you
Why do chase hopelessly after what's not good for you
Why did you treat me so cold when all I did is care about you
Good guys finish last
Have you heard that saying
Well I'm that good guy who finished
I found God and my joy is complete
Never more do I run in circles hopelessly looking for love
I do wish the same for you
But you seem to be content with your plans in life
Why do you works so hard to get hurt
Why do u try to uphold unlikely standards
Do you see you own Beauty
I not talking bout your eyes girl
Your beautiful the way you are and if he can't comprehend that he can't comprehend you.
So why put him on a pedestal
When you’re on the bottom of his shoe.
I hope you find out before it's to late
That your a princess and that God loves you
God thinks the world of His baby girl
So next time you try to please a Guy
Think about his view vs. Gods view
Does he love u for you or the little pleasure u give him
Which leave you empty.
Or does he love you for who you are.
