Darkness - Poem by Deirdre Devina

Making my way through the darkness
Making my way through the night
Looking around with fear on my mind
Looking around in fright
I never thought I'd be this scared
And then I had to meet you
My heart missed a beat
Didn't know what to do
Now I lie here on the sidewalk
You just used me as a meal
And now, to late, I realise
My fears had been for real
